Odessa!!!
The unique place to see
in Ukraine! A pearl at the seaside, it's a city of
contrasts, a shining everyday's carnival of many mixed
nations - Greeks, Jews, Russians, Moldovians, Ukrainians,
of humour and southern bright spirit. With the warm
sea and tender southern sun several generations of
talented musicians, actors and writers well-known
all over FSU raised in Odessa. Songs and melodies
born in sea-port small restaurants and then performed
by prominent jazz musicians, such as Leonid Utesov
and others are known in New-York and Paris, Casablanka
and Moscow. The Odessa's world-class Opera house
is of great architecture and accepts singers from
all over the world. |

of humour in former Soviet Union and 1st April carnival
in Odessa is shown in every TV channel of all the FSU
cities. Odessa had good old traditions of cinema producing,
some of films were awarded at international Cinema Festivals,
as well-known Potyomkin by Sergey Eyzenshtein. |

With its balmy climate,
seaside vistas, sandy beaches, and year-round lively street
life, Odessa recembles more Mediterranean city than Slavic
one. Some part of French old style architecture and its
famous plane-trees makes the city to look as small Paris.
Odessa is becoming more comfortable and beautifull with
every passing year.
Odessa citizens are great patriots and fallen in love
with own city since their births. If you like Odessa -
you are their best friend! Because of mixed nations Odessa's
ladies are very beautiful and of vivid humouristic mind. |
| Location: Odessa is on
a high plateau overlooking a bay in the Black Sea-Azov
Sea Basin near the mouths of the Danube, Dnister, Bug
and Dnipro rivers. By road Odessa is 290 miles (480km)
south of Kyiv and 110 miles (180km) southeast of the Moldovan
capital, Chisinau (or Kishinev).
Odessa has an international airport and a big seaport. |
