Delta of Danuba is a unique ecosystem. Here
the Danuba Biosphere Reserve has been created
that is the nature-conservative research institute
of international importance and here ecocentre
"DELTA"- one of the first public
ecology organisations created in Ukraine-
performs its work.Peacefully
sweeps its waters beautiful Danuba finishing
its run in the arms of Black Sea. And in the
delta itselves lies hidden cosy town Vilkovo.
The river flows into the sea by some branches.One
of the- Kiliyskiy- devided on three gearls
which form a kind of fork. On its junction
is located Vilkovo and that's why it is called
Vilkovo.("vilka" means "fork"
in Russian). It is a unique town on water.
Channels serve as streets and the most popular
kind of transport is a boat. The reserve flora
and fauna, the landscape itself, originality
of delta of Danuba made the look of Vilkovo
interesting for tourists. |
